You get it wrong.

Resilience is a possibility that kids really have. But if you don't allow them to use it, they will turn into stupid adults.

It's just like walking. If you put children in chairs all day long, and let them use a device to move without using their legs, they will become impotent. What you don't use, you lose.

Acknowledge or excuses are dumb a solution. What will you say to them? "Excuse me poor kid, I understand you are suffering, but this is life" And then, what? I'm sure you are compassionate, which mean you are suffering for them: this is even worse.
