For that the only tool we have in our pack is the scientific method. Critiacal thinking isn't enough. Use science to prove your hypothesis.

The only problem is that science needs rigor and a lot of dedication, which is the opposite state of mind of the prospective one. If you don't have these qualities don't talk about science, it will only be pseudoscientism.
