Our brain (actually the central nervous system, not just the brain) can be seen as a believing and inventing machine. That is where all the biases come from. You can label and map them, but you're just putting them in boxes. The boxes of illusions, illusions that govern us, unconsciously.
If you start favoring belief, you're on a slippery slope because you're favoring human fallibility, believing whatever bullshit or fake news you like.
The problem with Buster's words ("if we accept...") is that he can't think outside his own box. In real life, emotions blind judgment, including confirmation bias. Knowing them won't help at all if you're under the influence or possession of your emotions.
