Nice article.

I would like to add that the nose's nerves--contrary to eye and ear ones--are directly connected to the emotional part of the Central Nervous System. Breathing only by the nose will help to relax.

You can also observe that in stressful situation (physical or emotional ones) people start to exhale by the mouth. It's a sign they can't cope.
