Einstein was a believer. His beliefs prevent him to understand quantum theory. And for relativity, after 100 years new models are set up, and more promising that his. His view of the universe was totally impact his work, and not in the best way.

However, whatevs the religious beliefs, imho asking if people believe in God or not is nonsensical. Because whatevs is far outside, it is not a God like the one imagined by religions, a simplistic omnipotent being .

If your stats are correct, having more scientists believing in God is more a sign of general anxiety and stress due to the global situation than a true reveal.
