Although I generally agree with your article, I would want to draw attention to a flaw in your logic.

Darwin couldn't hammer the final nail in the coffin. Science can't prove that God does not exist. As an eliminiative materialist, I only believe in what I see (to quote St-Thomas), but no one can say there is nothing else than materiality of the world.

That's why I usually suggest to believers in extra-materiality (Gods, aliens, etc.) to look for scientific evidence to support their claims.

Have you read Richard Dawkins' God Delusion? He details the attempts made by Christian fundamentalists to demonstrate the efficacy of prayer. If God exists, He was on vacation that day :)
